How
can you help?
There are many ways
to get involved with restoration activities throughout the
Methow Valley as a homeowner or as a visitor. These opportunities
include:
- Keeping
riparian areas on your property intact
- Choosing
to landscape with native plants
- Keeping
forested property healthy through thinning of small diameter
trees
-
Leaving snags (dead trees) on your property standing. They
provide great wildlife habitat.
- Enhancing
backyard wildlife habitat
- Installing proper drainage on new roads
- Keeping
roads and culverts in working condition
- Hunting
and fishing responsibly
- Educating
others about the benefits of restoration
- Conserving
water
- Conserving
electricity
The
Good Neighbor Handbook produced by The Methow Conservancy
is a great reference source for information on how to live
responsibly and sustainably in the Methow Valley. Contact
